Agency for Inspection and Restoration of Monuments, in partnership with the Design Cafe&Club platform has set up a challenge for architects and designers who wish to participate in the transformation of the nocturnal capital. The ‘Evening Chisinau – the city of lights’ competition, as part of the project with the same name, enables all participants to show their mastery, by creating the illumination project for one of the most valuable monuments of the city. For this end, they have to present the city monument illumination concept.
The participants are given room for choosing whichever monument they would like to illuminate, while priority is given to the postwar buildings located along the Stefan cel Mare si Sfant avenue. Also, special attention is paid to the following buildings: ‘City Gates’, the City Hall, National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, the ‘Romanița’ building and the ‘Holy Martyr Panteleimon’ church.

The competition registration deadline is December 7, and illumination projects submission deadline is February 15.The proposals will be examined by an international jury of 7 persons, headed by Alain Guilhot, who will choose three best projects.
The organizers will award prizes of 2500, 1500 and 1000 EUR to the three winners.
The award ceremony will take place in early March.
